Purpose and ownership
BoardFoot Bench is an independent information product for woodworkers, lumber buyers, sawyers and students. It is published by Maple Web Group, which is identified separately from the BoardFoot Bench site brand. The service makes dimensional assumptions, formulas, table models and rounding visible. Maple Web Group is not presented as a lumber seller, forestry consultancy, grading agency or professional engineering service.
Editorial approach
Primary authorities anchor definitions and table models; independent educational sources cross-check practical results. Calculation logic is tested separately from page presentation. A method is held when the exact convention cannot be reproduced with sufficient confidence. That is why Scribner currently explains the evidence gap instead of displaying a number.
Scope and accountability
The site focuses on US board-foot terminology, common US customary inputs and explicitly named log rules. It does not publish live lumber prices, exchange rates, grades, structural design values or mill-yield promises. Every released method has retained fixtures and a visible source trail. Suspected errors can be reported through the contact route and material corrections receive a new review date.
